Hello and welcome. You’ve discovered the website for Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church.  Please come visit.  Here's what you'll find: Beautiful worship, transformative service, and radical welcome.

The Sunday morning service expresses devotion to God through ancient words and gestures, glorious music, thoughtful preaching. All kinds of people gather prayerfully and joyfully to experience the love of Jesus made real.

Service comes naturally here. People without jobs, without homes live all around us. Someone told me about her first Sunday here. At a fish fry after church, a church member just started making plates for strangers, some of whom looked like they didn’t have anything. But the way he talked with them, it wasn’t “charity.” That kind of sharing makes the love of Jesus alive. Outreach at Saint Andrew’s changes the people served and the people serving. This is the home of Community Kitchens, preparing a good lunch for anyone five days a week. Saint Andy’s Pantry provides bags of groceries on second and fourth Saturday mornings.

When I ask anyone what they love about their church, they tell me about finding a home with God in a way of worship known as Anglo-Catholic. They tell me about outreach that’s first hand. But by far, this is what I hear the most: “I love the people! Our church welcomes everyone.” Check out the tab marked “History.” For decades, Saint Andrew’s has championed civil rights. This is a church that’s known for fully welcoming individuals who are lesbian, gay, transitioning, and questioning into community. This is a safe and joyful space for exploring faith. It’s a school for love. Come join us!

WHAT TO EXPECT AT WORSHIP

Wear what makes you comfortable. If you're used to going to church in a dress, please wear one. If you've never been to church and you're happiest in jeans, please wear those. We probably have a parishioner who will be wearing something similar... from jeans to khakis to suits and skirts, and from flip flops to patent leather shoes.

You may see some movement among those around you during a service, including kneeling, crossing oneself, genuflecting, and bowing. There will be times that the congregation will read or chant in a response and recite creeds collectively. If you are new to a tradition that uses formal prayers and liturgy, we encourage you to participate without any concern for “doing things correctly.” We want your visit to be comfortable so that you may fully experience God’s presence through worship and fellowship, whether you are just visiting or looking for a church home.

Please come to coffee hour.  This is a brief time set aside after the service to visit. Current members and clergy are available for visitors to ask questions about the service, get more information about St. Andrew’s, or just chat. Coffee and a simple snack are served. Please join us!
