The Center for Anglican Music at Trinity Commons
The Center for Anglican Music is a new ministry of Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church and seeks to serve college students of music by engaging their musical ability with our rich high services, teaching about Anglican Church Music, and living a common life of residency at the Center itself. The Center is located in Trinity Commons Episcopal Student Center on Saint Andrews’ campus. It houses the music suite for Saint Andrew’s including the choral music library, choir room, as well as private practice and study spaces. The mission is to equip college students with musical skills, knowledge, and understanding in a supportive and welcoming community.
Choral Scholars
At the core of the Center for Anglican Music is the choral scholars program which draws students from local universities into a common life of intentional community. Scripture calls us to live together in these types of community. At the Center, scholars live together with fellow scholars in the apartments at Trinity Commons, share weekly meals, occasional music and liturgy workshops, and service opportunities within and around Saint Andrew’s. Their roles most visibly lie in the parish choir where they sing along with the full Parish choir at the different liturgies at Saint Andrew’s.
