Red Door Arts - Art Exhibition
Our Red Door Arts art exhibit here at Saint Andrew’s will hang in the Nave through early August and is open for viewing.
In the exhibit, Phyllis Benington is showing some of her father’s (Frederick Benington’s) photography collection and art purchases that date from the late 1950s through the 1980s. Benington retired from UAB as Professor Emeritus as an organic chemist doing research in the departments of Psychiatry and Surgery. He was an avid photographer. All photos were taken with Leica, Nikon or Rolleiflex cameras. Prints were processed and printed from negatives in his home darkroom. He then dry mounted, matted and framed his work. Fred also entered competitions in the Cambridge Camera Club in Ohio where he won third prize for his photograph “the door.”
