Celebration of Holy Baptism

This Sunday at the 10:30 am Mass, we have the joy of celebrating the baptism of new member Raju Chinta, who found Saint Andrew’s several months ago and regularly attends Sunday and midweek Masses.

Raju moved to Birmingham from his home in India one year ago to complete graduate studies in data science at UAB. He will shortly move to Louisville, KY to begin work as a software engineer, and he'll visit Birmingham every other month. Raju shared that he wants to be baptized to be near God, to follow the way of Jesus, and to feel God's strength, peace, and courage. Parishioner Julie Linden will be Raju's baptismal sponsor.

Please join your prayers with ours as we ask God to bless and keep Raju as he prepares for baptism.

O God, you prepared your disciples for the coming of the Spirit through the teaching of your Son Jesus Christ: Make the heart and mind of your servant Raju ready to receive the blessing of the Holy Spirit, that he may be filled with the strength of his presence; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (The Book of Common Prayer, pg. 819)

The liturgy will be followed by a festive coffee hour in Trinity Commons, hosted by the Daughters of the King.
